Our Mission
The Abundant Life Church exists to introduce, develop and empower people
to faithfully follow Christ, in order that each person may fulfill their purpose
in the church, the community, and the world.
Our Vision
The Abundant Life Church has a vision to be a life development church
that is biblically – based and Christ empowered. We desire to
honor Christ by carrying out His command to make disciples of all people
(Matt 28:19-20). Specifically, we believe God has called us to focus
on reaching those in this city (Cambridge. MA) and surrounding areas
through our ministry. We also intend to multiply the ministry by being
involved in church planting efforts, preparing leadership for Christian
service, and by becoming a resource center.
Core Values
This statement of principles clarifies the attitudes and
approaches that will be encouraged in the ministries of the Abundant
Life Church. All of these principles are not biblical absolutes, but
they represent our understanding of how to most effectively accomplish
our purpose.
A Commitment To Relevant Bible Exposition
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word, the authoritative and
trustworthy rule of faith and practice for all Christians. Therefore,
we are committed to equipping Christians, through the preaching and teaching
of God’s Word, to follow Christ in every sphere of life.
A Commitment To Prayer
We believe that God desires his people to pray and that he hears and
answers prayer. Therefore the ministries and activities of this church
will be characterized by reliance on prayer in the conception, planning,
and execution.
A Commitment To Lay Ministry
We believe that the primary responsibility of the leadership in the local
church is to prepare God's people for works of service. Therefore, the
ministry of the Abundant Life Church will be placed in the hands of the
membership. This will be accomplished through training opportunities
and through practices which encourage leadership, responsibility, and
authority in various ministries of the church.
A Commitment To Small Groups .
We are committed to small group ministry as one of the most effective
means of building relationships, stimulating spiritual growth, and developing
leaders.
A Commitment To Excellence
We believe that the God of our salvation deserves the best we have to
offer. The Lord himself is a God of excellence. God gave heavens best
gift to us in the person of Jesus Christ. Therefore, in the ministries
and activities of the Abundant Life Church we will seek to maintain a
high level of excellence to the glory of God. This will be achieved by
encouraging and training every person to exercise their spiritual gift
(s) and talents.
A Commitment To Qualitative and Quantitative Growth
We believe that growth should be measured in two ways; qualitative and
quantitative. God desires us to reach as many people as possible with
the gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we will pursue methods which will
facilitate numerical growth without compromising our integrity or commitment
to biblical truth.
An Appreciation for Creativity and Innovation
In today's rapidly changing world, forms and methods must be continually
evaluated, and if necessary altered to fit new conditions. While proven
techniques should not be discarded, we will encourage creativity and innovation,
flexibility and adaptability. We will pursue methods that bring greater
effectiveness in the ministry of the Abundant Life Church, to reach the
world for Christ.
